'From the very beginning, Patek Philippe timepieces have elicited spontaneous and enthusiastic acclaim among connoisseurs, all of them lovers of the art of horology.'

At the beginning of July, a small number of VIP guests were given the opportunity to immerse themselves into the extraordinary world of Patek Philippe. The most luxurious of tours started in the most splendid style, as the private jet was boarded and bound for Switzerland, the home of exceptional watchmaking. Geneva was soon reached and after checking into the Mandarin Oriental hotel, the day began with a guided tour of the Patek Philippe Museum.

Celebrating over 175 years of creative and iconic watchmaking, the Museum dedicates 4 floors to the history of Patek Philippe and is home to examples of early Swiss watch-making from the 16th century. Guests were able to witness the evolution of Patek Philippe, with timepieces that date back to the brands inception, alongside some of the newest, and rarest, collections. A scrumptious Italian dinner in the evening was enjoyed at Auberge D'onex, comprising of 12 delicious courses, completing a magnificent first day of discovery.

Day two commenced with sunshine and an early start with a visit to the Manufacture. Upon arrival the Grande and new facility was in sight, a home where all production and assembly will take place under one roof. Invited guests were given the opportunity to see first -hand the production of components and assembly, and even heard the sound of a Minute Repeater watch, complete with an explanation by one of the talented watchmakers responsible for making it. Lunch was enjoyed in the Director's private dining room, in the remarkable company of Patek Philippe's 4th Generation President, Theirry Stern.

Following on from this, the next stop for the trip took place in Plessy, on the French border. Here guests were treated to see where the cases and bracelets are manufactured, and had the opportunity to handle the raw materials, including 1 metre length of solid 18ct gold, from which the cases will be made from! Excitement was incredibly high when the grand finale followed, guests were then treated to viewing and trying on the entire current collection, showcasing masterpieces of exceptional beauty and innovative design. Everyone returned home in awe of what they had experienced, with incredible memories to last a lifetime.
